Run Fit Safeguarding Policy

ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS, RUN LEADERS, COACHES, HELPERS AND ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL CONNECTED TO THE CLUB, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION, THE POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND CODES OF CONDUCT VIA THE LINKS

Run Fit is committed to ensuring that all members can participate in club running activities in an enjoyable and safe environment. All children, young people and vulnerable adults have the right to be cared for, protected from harm and abuse, and to participate in a sporting environment which is safe, and in which their rights are respected, and their needs met.

All members of the Run Fit Community - committee members, run leaders, helpers, club members and any other individuals connected to Run Fit– have a role to play in keeping others safe and thus have a responsibility to uphold the Safeguarding policies, procedures and codes of conduct of the club, to adhere to good practice and to respond swiftly to any suspected breeches.

Safeguarding concerns can lie on a continuum from seemingly minor issues (e.g., minor breaches of rules or codes of conduct), through to more serious, persistent or unlawful behaviours (e.g., allegations or concerns about abuse, sexual or physical assault, or repeated or serious breaches of codes of conduct). Regardless of where they sit on the continuum, all concerns require a considered response in line with appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures. The outcomes of such concerns will depend on a number of factors including both the seriousness and level of risk associated with the concern.

Run Fit has adopted the safeguarding policies, procedures and codes of conduct from England Athletics. Please access them via the links below:
