Ginny Lloyd-Smith

Hi, I'm Ginny! I was never really 'a runner'. That changed during the pandemic when I did Couch to 5k with the aim of feeling fitter and being able to run after my kids a bit more easily.

After completing Couch to 5k, I went along to my first run with Run Together Canterbury. Here, I found a genuinely friendly and supportive running group led by the indefatigable Emily, and Thursday run night soon became a regular fixture in my calendar.

I volunteered to become a Mental Health Champion for RtC because as a mother, partner, daughter, sister, friend and colleague, I feel strongly about supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health, and I hope that I can bring my personal and professional knowledge and experience to give something back to the group.

RtC creates fantastic opportunities for people to benefit from the impact of both running and friendship on mental and physical health. I hope to see you at one of our runs soon.
