About our group
We will restart our formal jogs on Thursday January 9th. (Some of us might meet at 09:30 on 2nd Jan for an informal run.) Don't forget that all joggers will now meet at 09:30.
Join Silver Joggers for a fun start to your jogging career. Trained leaders will help and encourage you to start running and get the amazing health benefits of regular gentle exercise.
We are a mixed group of sociable runners of all abilities and ages.
We have two runs every Thursday morning:
5 km jog: we jog for about 5 km at a gentle or moderate pace. We usually have two groups, one a bit more strenuous than the other - decide on the day which you want to join.
Beginners and returners: we welcome beginners or anyone who wants to take things more gently. We will begin with some walking and jogging, building up gradually. Most of our '5 km runners' began as ‘beginners’! You can see what we do on our Facebook Page and Group.
As from January 2025, all joggers will start at 09:30. If you are joining us for the first time, please come a little earlier so we can tailor something to your needs.
Please register for each run you wish to join - under 'Our Runs'. Runs are free! Come along any week to give it a try.
