About our group

Welcome to Strideout Runners are an uber friendly female running Group, we are based in South Yorkshire and welcome women of all abilities to run with us in a non-competitive and supportive envrionment. We have worked extremely hard to have achieved regional awards for Run Group of the Year 2013 & 2015 with Run England and The Grass Roots Regional Sports Club of the Year 2016, none of which could have been accomplished without the ongoing support of our volunteers and the amazing families that run with us.

We offer our runners a variety of weekly run sessions, all supported by our highly motivated and qualified team of Run Leaders and Coaches, catering for all run ability needs from our Couch 2 5K programme through to a Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced groups. We cover both road and off-road routes, which also incorporate regular drill sessions, help you tackle hills (they can't be avoided in Sheffield!) looking at speed and strength building. We deliver coached sessions for race training, organise social runs and have lots of fun and social events for our members.

With nearly 2000 members of all abilities you can be confident that when you run with us, you will be running with like-minded, friendly, encouraging and supportive runners.

The strong ethos of the club is 'inclusivity' for women, no one should feel daunted by taking their first run with us as we reassure a warm and friendly welcome and on-going support, no matter what your goal or reason for running! All our led sessions ensure a 'run-back' system which means that no one is left demotivated at the rear of the run group. This ethos has proved a huge success for Strideout and not only allows strong front runners to cover more mileage and support back runners but also allows back runners their time to lead the group, no matter what, we all show each other encouragement and support.

We have Mental Health Ambassadors within the club who want to help our runners feel able to tackle any emotional aspects that life throws at them, running as a group is known to improve mental health and so if you feel that you may be experiencing issues in life which are making it difficult for you to put on your trainers, then don't worry Strideout are here to listen and help in any way that we can. Please feel free to make contact with one of our Mental Health Ambassadors Carla or Gay (check our the Run Leader page for their contact details)

We offer weekly led runs from Wisewood, Crookes, Stannington, Hillsborough, Stocksbridge, Aston (this is now Aston Chasers), Woodhouse and Norton.

Please check out our Run Leaders/Coaches information for more details of the key roles they play within the club. If you would like more information about running with Strideout then please do not hesitate to call Gay on 07908 737194 or email strideout11@gmail.com
