William Stones

I started running in 2016 when my mum took me along to parkrun and now it's me who takes her! I didn't see it becoming a serious hobby at first, but then we met Natalie... She mentioned a running group she had recently started with just a handful of runners and we thought it would be a good idea to come along! Since then I've met loads of new people, taken on young volunteer roles with parkrun and even managed to encourage some of my friends to come along to sessions as well. It's so true that TRF is more than just a running group, from the age of 11 being welcomed in and to now, thanks to the incredible support of my running family, being able to become a run leader. Getting more young people active is something that is so important and I strongly believe should be made more accessible and I hope that my inclusion within the team can showcase that TRF as a group is proud to share that belief. I look forward to returning the favour to all those who have helped me to grow over the last 7 years!
