About us:
- We are a FREE running group, but members are welcome to affiliate to our club - for more details on affiliation please email farsleyflyersrc@gmail.com
- We run on a Thursday night at 6.30pm, meeting at Sunny Bank Mills (LS28 5UJ) on the grass area next to the central Weaver's Yard car park.
- We have a walking group every Thursday meeting at 6.30pm for a 60-90 min walk - see Facebook for start location.
- We run the club voluntarily - we do not profit from helping others improve their running goals.
- We have 2 British Athletic qualified Coaches, 13 qualified and insured Run Leaders accredited by England Athletics, 6 Running Ambassadors, 1 Mental Health Ambassadors, a qualified Guide Runner for the partially sighted and a "signing" interpreter for supporting the deaf.
- We cater for beginners through to experienced runners.
- We fully support our local community and partner with local businesses where we can.
- We have a dedicated members page on Facebook to share progress and tap in to the support of other members. We also post our weekly session plans there - just type "Farsley Flyers Members" in the search bar of Facebook.
- We are recognised on ParkRun - add Farsley Flyers as your running club.
- Our members also record their triumphs on Strava - just search running club "Farsley Flyers". Support your peers and share local routes.
- Our birthday is 12th February and we were established in 2015.
- We host a variety of social events throughout the year - see Facebook.
- Farsley Flyers are a race organiser and in partnership with Country Trail hosted our first trail run in 2017.
- Farsley Flyers hold a club championship which is free to all members. This covers many local events from parkruns, 10ks and half marathons. This works on a point collection system so suitable for all abilities.
- Farsley Flyers have a parkrun championship which works on a handicap system to give everyone a fair chance to partake and improve their times.
