FAQs

FAQs:

Q) Do I need to have run with you before to take part?

A) Not at all! The 'Keep Me Running' sessions are a progression from the 0-5k programme I launched with, but they're open to anyone who can run for 20 mins at a time.  Want to run a faster 5k? Training for longer distances? Fancy running with some company, and someone else planning your session? These could be the sessions for you! Each session is adaptable and scalable to suit your goals, and how you're feeling on the day.

Q) Do I need any specific kit to take part?

A) You need a pair or trainers, and some comfortable clothing. It's easy to get swept up in feeling like you need to invest in new leggings, or the latest pair of trainers, but realistically, a comfortable pair of trainers, and maybe a decent sports bra, are all you need to get going.

If you're joining sessions that are likely to take place in the dark, depending on the seasons and the time of day, please try and wear something bright, reflective, or light coloured for safety and visibility.

Q) Is there somewhere secure to leave bags?

A) There isn't anywhere secure to lock away bags, so please dont bring excess luggage with you.  However I can hold any phones/keys, small bags, but they are left with me at your own discretion.  I recommend you bring water and additional layers.

Q) Can I turn up and pay on the day?

A) Advance booking and payment is required. The group numbers are limited for safety and for insurance purposes. If the cost is prohibitive to your ability to book in advance, please email me, because other payment options & a number of free places are available (no questions asked).

Q) How many others will be taking part?

A) The group is capped at 10 participants. But it might just be you and me on the day!

Q) How long are the sessions, and what form will they take?

A) The sessions will be approx 50 mins in length. This will be broken down into a check-in, a warm up,  running-specific drills, the main body of the session, and a cool down and check-out.

Q) I can't attend the session I've booked. Can I have a refund?

A) You're welcome to cancel your spot with more than 24 hours notice, and receive a refund (subject to admin fee - that's outside my control, sorry!) if you can't attend. Any cancellations within 24 hours of the session will not be refunded.

Q) Will there be a first aider present?

A) Yes, I am an Emergency First Aider, and will be carrying a first aid kit.

Q) I have a injury/illness that may affect my participation in the sessions. Do I need to let you know beforehand?

A) Yes please.  Ahead of joining a Run With Hart session, you will receive a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. Please complete it, and return it to me ahead of your first session, along with any other information you think it would be helpful for me to know.

Q) Can I wear headphones during the session?

A) For safety reasons, please don't wear headphones/listen to music/podcasts when taking part in the session. It is important you're aware of the environment around you, we don't have exclusive use of the area we run in, and you'll need to be able to hear me and instruction. It can also feel excluding for those around you. If you want /need to wear headphones for another reason, please get in touch and discuss your needs ahead of the session.

Q) Will you be doing another 0-5km programme?

A) At some point in the future, yes! Are you keen to get involved? Drop me an email, and I'll get the wheels turning!

By joining these sessions,  you understand and agree that you are participating entirely at your own risk, and should consult your doctor if you are suffering from any condition that might make running dangerous to your health. By booking, you accept the terms outlined in the answers above.
