Runners of all abilities are really welcome to join our sessions.   Learning from you about your running history, what ambitions and fears you may have will enable us to cater for your specific needs.  Running work is directed at your ability within a group environment in a fun way, accommodating those that wish to be challenged more or less within the group.

Before running it is essential that you have had plenty of fluid intake.   Be hydrated and stay hydrated.

Wear comfortable running shoes.  Ladies, please think about investing in a good, supportive sports bra.  Dress for the weather.  When it is cold out there, make sure you layer.  You will warm up as you get moving so something you can easily take off during the session is best.  When it is hot, sun tan lotion is a must.

We do run in all weathers, only cancelling when icy conditions make running unsafe.  But rain or shine, we go.

Some runners get hungry after running, so think about bringing a snack if you have a fair distance to travel after your session.

Our sessions work on and teach you about agility, balance and co-ordination (ABCs).   Half of your run is balancing on one leg; the other half is balancing on the other!!  Preparing your body for this does nothing but help.  Incorporating drills means that you will easily pick up improvements to your technique, ultimately making your running experience easier and more efficient.

For each of our TRAINING sessions, we always spend the first part on the all important dynamic warm-up.  These exercises ensure you are ready to run while also putting into practice the important ABCs.  It is brilliant to multi-task!  The next forty or so minutes will focus on various running skills, such as varying speed, terrain, ascent, descent, endurance.  Finally we complete the session with a static cooldown.  We will discuss what we have done and you will be given ideas to take away with you, based on what you would like to do in between sessions.

For the social runs we will of course spend some time warming up and cooling down either side of the session, but the actual run will be influenced by the participants rather than the run leader.  Tips and advice will be given to help you improve your efficiency, but less formally.

Walkers should wear comfortable clothing and footwear and it is advisable to bring a small drink and perhaps a snack for along the way.  There will be NO running at all but please be aware that these sessions are really for fitness, so it is not geared towards rambling.

Never worry about making contact prior to or after your session if you have any questions, especially if you are not comfortable discussing something in a group environment.  Here to help.
