A few web links to local running events and organisations that we think you may be interested in signing up to.
Parkrun events run every Saturday, starting at 9am all over the UK and many other countries. They are free to enter and there are quite a number of local parkruns in the area at Preston, Lytham, Blackburn, Cuerden, Wigan, Edge Hill, Pennington and Bolton.
These 5 km runs are a great way to check your running progress and are a friendly, non competitive way of seeing how you are progressing and meeting other runners. See the web site for details.

They organise a number of regular running sessions each week aimed at runners of all abilities. The Wednesday evening sessions start at 6:30 pm from the Golden Lion pub in Wheelton. Run sessions may also be arranged for other evenings and weekends and also occasionally starting from other locations.
They organise routes around Chorley each week throughout the year from runs along the canal in the lighter nights to safe road runs in the winter.
Free to sign up to, they are another RunTogether group so you just need to add Lions Running Community group to your RunTogether profile.
