Welcome to Chorley Runners.

CHORLEY RUNNERS   are pleased to announce that we have restarted some of our running sessions.

As you will all appreciate, we have been working hard to explore if and how we can reopen as a group. We have now developed a full Covid-19 policy and believe we have made every effort to define our COVID-19 secure environment to allow us to run safe running sessions again, with assistance from our friends at Lions Running Community. This policy and associated risk assessment forms have been uploaded to the files section of our Facebook groups to make it available to everyone in the group.

We will be opening our runs slowly and with limited numbers initially.  We need to do this to test if we can open safely and to ensure we can cope with the demand as we also have to think about the welfare and safety of our of trained UK Athletics Run leaders and coaches and any impact on members of the public.

We have different running sessions for runners of all abilities. Full descriptions of the runs are under the Session Info tab and an overview of when the runs are held is below.

If you are a complete beginner,  we now offer a midweek daytime beginner running course.  If you cannot attend during the day, then check out the Chorley Couch to 5 K program, check their Facebook page for start dates.

You can run with any group, at any time, signing up for a session does not commit you to turn up but gives the run leaders an idea of how many people may turn up.  Different run leaders run different sessions. The run distances do vary so check the Facebook groups for the latest details. The upcoming runs sessions are listed at the bottom of this page.

We welcome anyone onto our sessions, we always loop at regular intervals to ensure no one is ever left behind and to be as inclusive as possible. Some people continue running back to the rear marker, some stop and chat - your choice. 


The group often arranges optional social evenings out, all are welcome to come along.

We also run a 5-10 km course 3 times a year, followed by a 10-16 Km (10 miles) course as time and holidays permit.

Monday 6:30 pm - 5 km run with running exercises

Wednesday 6:30 pm - 5 Km  


10:30 am - #RunAndTalk Beginners running sessions

6:30 pm - minimum 7 km -  for those looking to improve their distance running    


9:00 am - 4km run.  

9:00 am - Long run session - distance may vary, typically 8-10km but growing to 16km

9:00 am - 5-10 km running course ( 3 times  a year - check below for details)

Monthly "away day" at a local parkrun, see the run below for the location each month
