About our group
Chorley Runners is an inclusive social running group formed in October 2016, based at Astley Park, Chorley, Lancashire. It follows on from the highly successful Chorley Council Couch to 5K (C25K) program that has been running since January 2015.
Our objective is offer a number of free, regular, scheduled running sessions suitable for all runners, including those who have completed a C25K course. Our aim is to make running a fun and social activity which keeps us all fit. We are a friendly group, run by volunteers and cater for anyone who wants to run with the emphasis is on running distances and not on pace or speed.
Most of the running sessions are focussed on keeping you running - the distances and duration may vary depending on the mix of people who turn up but the groups all loop at regular points to ensure NO ONE, regardless of their ability or pace, is left behind.
We also run a 5-10k course 3 times a year, where the sessions are focussed on helping runners stretch their running distance to 10k over 8-9 weeks.
All of the run leaders and assistants are volunteers, some of us started our running in the very first Chorley C25K. The run leaders are all Qualified UK Athletics Leaders in Running Fitness (LIRF), DBS checked and First Aid qualified.. We also have a qualified Guide Runner in the group.
Details of the different running sessions are listed under the Our Runs tab above.
Our only requirement is that we ask you sign up to RunTogether via this website and add Chorley Runners as your running group.
Come along and Join us for a sociable run! But please register with RunTogether.
