Our group runs

We've found 3 runs at location: The Ridgewaye at the entrance to the playing fields

Our midweek "all abilities" sessions are tailored for the individuals who are attending and no one gets left behind with runners allocated into groups based on ability. The aim is to improve speed endurance and strength using a variety of tried and tested sessions including - intervals, fartlek (speed play), hills and parlauf (continuous relays) with active jog/walk recovery between efforts.

In the Autumn & Winter months, these sessions take place in quiet, residential areas and therefore reflective, hi-visibility vest/clothing is essential. In the Spring & Summer months, sessions take place on fields & common areas within the local area.

Throughout the year we provide a "Zero to 30" beginner group, which is suitable for those who have little or no experience of running or for people returning from injury/illness and who would like to gradually improve their fitness over time. We run these as a 10 week beginner plan which takes people from walking and gradually builds them up to jogging continuously for 30 minutes by the end of the plan. Please contact us for details of when our next group is due to commence.

On Sunday mornings (9-10am), Claire Henry leads a social run of between 40-45 minutes. This is suitable for runners of all abilities and is also the perfect step-up for those who have completed our beginners groups. These weekly social runs will help to build consistency and improve stamina over the long term. In addition, we also provide a running conditioning session on Sunday mornings (10-11am), which is led by Personal Trainer and Coach in Running Fitness, Joe Watts. The aim of these sessions is to improve strength, speed and running form and involve bodyweight exercises and drills to test agility, balance and coordination! Again, these sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities.

New for 2020 – Friday mid-morning steady/tempo run. Join group leader Joe on a steady, continuous run in and around Southborough and Tunbridge Wells. Starting and finishing at the Running Hub in Southborough where we have kindly been provided access to toilet and kitchen facilities!

Also new for 2020 – Running groups in Forest Row, East Sussex. More information to be announced in January 2020!
